A new generation of domestic hot-water heating

AQUAPURA MONOBLOC PRO is a latest-generation aerothermal heat pump designed specifically for efficient domestic hot-water production.

The heat pump and stainless-steel storage cylinder are combined within one floor-standing appliance, creating a compact and straightforward solution for modern homes.

Available in 200 and 300 litre capacities, AQUAPURA MONOBLOC PRO uses natural R290 refrigerant to provide excellent thermodynamic performance with a much lower refrigerant-related environmental impact.

The system can produce hot water at temperatures of up to 65°C in heat-pump mode.

Compact all-in-one design

AQUAPURA MONOBLOC PRO integrates the heat-pump components, controller and hot-water storage within a single appliance.

Its compact footprint allows it to be installed within a standard 60 × 60 cm area, making it suitable for utility rooms, plant cupboards and other locations where space needs to be used efficiently.

Key advantages include:

  • Integrated heat pump and cylinder
  • 200 and 300 litre capacities
  • Compact 60 × 60 cm footprint
  • Stainless-steel hot-water storage
  • Quiet operation
  • Straightforward installation
  • Integrated touchscreen controller
  • Remote connectivity
  • Reduced maintenance requirements

Hot water up to 65°C

The system can produce domestic hot water at temperatures of up to 65°C using heat-pump operation.

R290 refrigerant provides strong thermodynamic performance at higher water temperatures, helping meet everyday household hot-water demand efficiently.

Actual performance will depend on the incoming air temperature, selected water temperature, installation conditions and household usage.

Natural R290 refrigerant

AQUAPURA MONOBLOC PRO uses R290, a natural propane-based refrigerant with a Global Warming Potential of only 3.

This is substantially lower than the GWP of many conventional refrigerants used in comparable heat-pump systems.

Advantages of R290 include:

  • Global Warming Potential of 3
  • Reduced refrigerant-related climate impact
  • Strong thermodynamic performance
  • Efficient high-temperature operation
  • Domestic hot water up to 65°C
  • Support for lower-carbon water heating

As R290 is a flammable refrigerant, installation and servicing must be undertaken by appropriately trained professionals in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements.

Stainless-steel hot-water cylinder

The storage cylinder is available in Stainless Steel AISI 444 or Duplex 2205.

These materials provide excellent resistance to corrosion and support long-term reliability. Stainless-steel construction removes the need for a conventional sacrificial anode, reducing routine maintenance.

Cylinder benefits include:

  • AISI 444 or Duplex 2205 stainless steel
  • Strong corrosion resistance
  • No sacrificial anode required
  • Reduced maintenance
  • Long working life
  • Hygienic domestic hot-water storage

Efficient aerothermal operation

The heat pump collects thermal energy from the surrounding or ducted air.

Refrigerant absorbs this low-temperature energy and carries it to the compressor. Compression increases its temperature before the captured heat is transferred into the water stored inside the cylinder.

After releasing its heat, the refrigerant passes through an expansion device and returns to a lower pressure and temperature. The cycle then repeats.

Because much of the delivered heat is collected from the air, the system can use significantly less direct electrical energy than a conventional immersion heater.

Intelligent photovoltaic function

AQUAPURA MONOBLOC PRO can work with a compatible photovoltaic system to make better use of surplus solar electricity.

When excess PV generation is available, the heat pump can convert that electricity into stored hot water. The cylinder effectively becomes a thermal battery, retaining useful energy that might otherwise be exported or curtailed.

Potential benefits include:

  • Increased self-consumption of solar electricity
  • Lower domestic hot-water costs
  • Reduced grid electricity demand
  • Better use of daytime PV production
  • Renewable energy stored as hot water

System compatibility and control arrangements should be confirmed during design.

Integrated Wi-Fi

Built-in Wi-Fi allows compatible functions to be monitored and managed remotely through an application.

Depending on the software and configuration, users may be able to access:

  • Water-temperature controls
  • Operating-mode selection
  • Time schedules
  • Holiday settings
  • Consumption information
  • System status
  • Anti-legionella controls

Touchscreen controller

An integrated touchscreen provides convenient access to the system’s main functions.

The display can be used to check temperatures, choose operating modes, configure schedules and view system information. Its front-facing position keeps it readily accessible.

Modbus integration

Modbus connectivity allows the appliance to communicate with compatible building-management and home-automation systems.

This can support coordinated control, central monitoring and integration with a broader household energy-management strategy.

The available functions will depend on the connected control platform.

Quiet EPP top cover

The redesigned upper cover is made from Expanded Polypropylene, or EPP.

This robust, lightweight material helps reduce transmitted sound while protecting the thermodynamic components. It also gives the appliance a clean, modern appearance.

Cover features include:

  • Sound-reducing EPP construction
  • Robust and lightweight design
  • Integrated touchscreen position
  • Two-piece construction
  • Improved access for servicing
  • Neat contemporary appearance

Easier maintenance access

The two-piece top cover provides front access to the thermodynamic unit without requiring the air ducts to be removed.

This makes routine inspection and servicing faster and more practical while reducing disturbance to the surrounding installation.

Maintenance-focused features include:

  • Front access to internal components
  • No routine duct removal
  • Two-piece removable cover
  • No cylinder sacrificial anode
  • Integrated diagnostic display
  • Simplified service procedure

Flexible air-duct connections

The top cover supports three duct connection diameters:

  • 160 mm
  • 190 mm
  • 200 mm

This provides useful flexibility when designing the intake and exhaust air routes.

Correct duct sizing, insulation and routing are important for maintaining airflow, controlling noise and preventing condensation.

Flexible installation options

AQUAPURA MONOBLOC PRO can use air from the installation room or be connected to ductwork, subject to the manufacturer’s requirements.

Possible configurations include:

  • Ambient-air intake and discharge
  • Ducted intake with local discharge
  • Local intake with ducted discharge
  • Fully ducted intake and discharge

The most appropriate arrangement will depend on available space, ventilation, heat sources and the effect of discharged cool air.

Suitable for family homes

The choice between 200 and 300 litre models should be based on household occupancy and usage.

The system is suitable for:

  • Family houses
  • New-build homes
  • Major renovations
  • Utility rooms
  • Plant cupboards
  • Homes replacing direct-electric cylinders
  • Properties with solar photovoltaic panels
  • Smart-home projects

Professional specification and installation

Before selecting the appliance, a professional assessment should consider:

  • Daily hot-water demand
  • Appropriate cylinder capacity
  • Available installation space
  • Air-source and discharge routes
  • Duct sizes and lengths
  • Condensate drainage
  • Electrical requirements
  • Ventilation and R290 safety
  • Wi-Fi and Modbus requirements
  • Photovoltaic integration
  • Future maintenance access

Correct sizing and installation will help ensure efficient operation, dependable hot-water availability and straightforward servicing.
